“Groups/Collectively”
For 25 years, the-big-guy-in-the-red-suit has been a regular visitor to our home late in December. For 25 years, we have awoken on December 25 to find the-big-guy-in-the-red-suit underneath the Christmas tree, surrounded by packages for #1 son. Except for this year.
Oh, we found the-big-guy-in-the-red-suit underneath our tree on Christmas morning, just as always. This time, though, flanked on either side of him were two groups of packages labeled with names. There was no mistaking the intent of the-big-guy-in-the-red-suit; these gifts were meant for mom and dad and NOT for #1 son!
Collectively, these gaily wrapped packages symbolize the eternal love of family.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
Love it!
ReplyDeleteNever knew about your big-guy-in-the-red-suit. Very clever. And how awesome that this year the packages were for you and hubby. I know it's bittersweet to see the little people in our lives grow up, but how fun it is to now have adult "friends" in their place. Happy New Year to you.
ReplyDeleteLinda said it all beautifully. Do you have photos each year of big Santa, like a Flat Stanley?
